[A translated poem by Dr. T.Radhakrishnamacharyulu. Original in Telugu by Mr. Erroju Venkateswarlu.]

Necklace, the wedlock symbol, is the Goldsmith’s craft
Whose occupation is not feeding the family
Farmers with no rainfall
Set in crush of drought suffer as a child
When food and shelter are there
Then funds for ornaments
While the price of gold running high in vacuum
Sits before the anvil wood bar
Sits in flexed hands encufed
Becomes wood of anvil
In furnace Grams of gold swells like cheeks
His airways blowing melting as swollen frogs
While stretching the wire on plate
He remains as wire without support
The arms ornaments ankles
And many varieties are Extinct
The workmanship means.. just arranging the coal
with tongs and to blowing the iron tube
That turns as pellets pearl of gold is..!
The beauty of men and women glitters
with ornaments is just Goldsmith
Well before the Archimedes laws
The wax ornaments dipped in water and
He is scientist who weighed in
balance and calculated accurately
Presently the laces that adorne the necks like
carcanets and others are simply distanced
The Goldsmith’s community, with no work, gets vanished
The divine necklace to foot phalanges rings are
readymade in jewellery caves
That adorn like ornamentation of skeletons
Attracted by glittery of superficial the buyers run to there
Those who do not think of the element that blended in gold
Never bothered of the quality, the accountability
For work though the
Goldsmith roams around the shops,
like the Sun the city, remains castle
Under the bulldozer feet of capitalist jewellery
the craftsmen are washed out in mud
So being away to minimum work
The divine threads of wives are abruptly cut off
Unity of roared hammers is liberation.
