Murmuration

[A poem by Mr. Samudrala Harikrishna titled ‘Murmuration’.]

In the Expansive blue skies
Where did these start?
Where are they headed to?!
Bosom pals or bound by lineage
Like a merry marriage troupe
Or a home-bound revellers group
The globe- trotting winged Ones!
Focus straying not, the adroit navigators!

***

Here mocking the ashen-clouds
There resembling the silky shrouds
Here like a twin-angled joint
There a la a shooting arrow’s point
Once like a Garland coming apart
Some distance aping a straight line
Like an aerial string sans any support
Travellers on wings with a strange rapport!

***

The strewn grains in a paddy Field
The guava in that secret Orchard
Home to fish of great taste, that pond
You know not their holy destination
The favourite wayfarers of the skylanes
Never losing the way, the gifted compasses
The silent flyers manouevring in jubilation
Pastmasters at their art of Murmuration!

***

The aerobics of the naturals ahoy
The sprightly ever cock a hoop with joy
The born untrained pilots extraordinaire
The feathery aeroplanes with limitless flair!
A sight to behold on the earth’s canopy
Moving dots they seem to the schoolboy
A lesson in Unity for the discerning eye
One for all, all for one-a trait they hold high
